Tool Glossary

Workshop tools, batteries, measuring accessories, fittings, and protective equipment arranged by specification type.

A specification is useful only when it answers the right question. Use this Glossary to understand the label, see what else to check, and move into a Tool Guide when the decision needs more detail.

Glossary entries define the label. Tool Guides help you make the complete decision when you need to compare a category, verify compatibility, plan a setup, or understand project tradeoffs.

Frequently asked questions

Does a higher specification always mean a better tool?

No. Compare the number with the related specification, operating mode, accessory, and exact product instructions.

Can two close-looking inch and metric sizes be used interchangeably?

Not automatically. Conversion does not prove that a socket, fastener, thread, arbor, collet, or bit will fit safely.

Does physical fit prove battery or accessory compatibility?

No. Check the exact platform, model numbers, controls, interface, ratings, and current manufacturer instructions.

Where should I go if a listing does not identify the specification?

Check the product page and current manual first. If the model, included parts, or interface is still unclear, ask TBD product support before ordering.
